Es ist doch großartig, dass Menschen auf derartige Ideen kommen! Wir würden sonst nie erfahren, was bei der Umsetzung herauskommt. Und das meine ich ganz frei von Ironie.

Informative Doku in der Mediathek des SWR über die Geschichte des Plattenspielers. “Kaum eine technische Errungenschaft hat so viele Väter auf ihrem Weg und erlangte im Laufe der Geschichte so viele Freunde, dass sie alle Hürden zu überstehen scheint.”
Ein Kommentar So. Laut What Hi-Fi stehen nun auch die Preise für den neuen MK von Technics fest. Die liegen demnach bei $1,200, £899 und €1,000. Teurer, als ich ich gedacht hatte, aber immer noch bezahlbar. Wenn man sich das leisten will – und ich gehe davon aus, dass einige das wollen. Zu haben sein wird die Kiste wohl ab Mai 2019. Hätte ich eine Amazon Wunschliste, würde ich den da jetzt mit raufpacken. Hihi.

Ich habe einen meiner alten MKs zu Weihnachten innerfamiliär verschenkt. Er bedeutete mir sehr viel und ich denke, dass diese Bedeutung mit dem Geschenk angenommen wurde. Es ist etwas ganz Großes.
Heute dann haut Technics nach all dem High-End-Hifi-Chi-Chi der letzten Jahre endlich mal einen neuen DJ-Plattenspieler raus. In Europa geht dieser als SL-1210MK7 auf den Markt, woanders als SL-1200MK7.
Der Pitch kann jetzt +/- 16 anstatt der bisher gewohnten bis +/- 8 und hat einen Reset-Knopf zum Nullen. Das matte Schwarz ist bisschen sexy. Einen Preis gibt es bisher leider noch keinen – und genau der aber wäre in dem Kontext jetzt gar nicht mal so unwichtig.
Speaking at the event, Technics say they have “re-engaged the DJ community” with the MK7, introducing a new, lighter coreless direct drive motor. The MK7 will also have the ability to play in reverse (as long as your cartridge and needle are also compatible), and incorporates a new motor control which will further benefit DJs who like to scratch.
The finish is matte black, and features an all-black tonearm. The chassis is made from a mixture of aluminium and glass fibre, with a view to minimising distortion caused by vibrations in loud environments.

Wir sehen Vincent Inc an nicht weniger als acht Plattenspielern gleichzeitig. Und ja, so werden die Dinger fast zu Instrumenten im herkömmlichen Sinne. Ob er auch tatsächlich das tut, was er vorgibt, weiß nur er selber, aber ich möchte das jetzt einfach mal glauben.
