Cushing Hotel, Maydelle, Texas.
It was constructed around the turn of the century and originally functioned as a bank. In the 1940s it was purchased by new owners, who made the top floor their private residence and converted the bottom floor into a grocery store, Glidden Grocery and Market. In 1981, the building was used as a set in the TV movie “The Long Summer of George Adams“, starring James Garner and Joan Hackett. In the film, the bank-turned-grocery-store functions as a hotel in the town of Cushing, Oklahoma. The film was based on a book by Weldon Hill.
