Ein paar lustige Australier haben sich wohl gedacht, „Was die da alle außerhalb unserer Insel so machen, kriegen wir doch hier in Sydney genauso gut. Selbst auf dem Klo!“ So haben sie das Konzept vom Boiler Room auf eine Toilette in Sydney übertragen und lassen dort nun DJs ihre Musik vor Kameras auflegen. Fast wie im Boiler Room, wenn auch viel kleiner. Der Toilet Room.

Klar, dass die Macher vom Boiler Room da jetzt nicht die dicksten Glückwünsche nach Down Under schicken, zumal man sich wohl auch ein wenig veralbert vorkommt. Aber hey, wer hat den Boiler Room noch nicht veralbert? Michail Stangl, Mr. Boiler Room Berlin, jedenfalls ist nicht wirklich begeistert, wie er auf Facebook verlautbaren lies. Er findet das irgendwie langweilig (Ach wat?). Außerdem nimmt er den Burschen übel, dass sie wohl mit seiner Idee und dem damit verbundenen Konzept auf dem Trittbrett selber Kasse machen, zumindest aber Fame sammeln wollen, was durchaus eine ihrer Triebkräfte sein kann, klar. Ich find’s trotzdem lustig.

the thing that i find very boring about it is the fact that they are not trying to make a joke on our behalf (which would be completely alright and has been done plenty of times in great ways), but rather choose to turn it into an exploitable „profit“ for themselves. they ridicule us but instead of taking it all the way and have somebody like PASSENGEROFSHIT play (who’s australian by the way) or come up with some other cleverly constructed parody on our work, they chose to take the credibility of the reference (us) as a base and copy us more or less directly. it doesn’t matter if Paleman goes along with the joke, he still plays a good set just as he would at one of our shows. they don’t draw a distinction („this is a parody“) but instead leave it open that this becomes some sort of success and therefore aim for attention from a crowd that is aware of what we stand for and therefore would recognize their efforts as something that can potentially be taken serious.

Die Toilet Room Macher aber nehmen sich offenbar gar nicht ganz so ernst und feiern einfach eine Klo-Party. „14 bottles of liquor, 1 dead battery, and uhhhhhhhhhhh, 1 hour and 10 minutes of bangers from Swamp 81’s Paleman. Welcome to the ToiletRoom. Dazu ist das hier von Paleman zusammengeschobene Set auch noch ziemlich gut.
