In Hong Kong gibt es jetzt Eis mit Tränengasgeschmack

In einer Eisdiele in Hong Kong bietet man jetzt als Reminiszenz an die Proteste des letzten Jahres Eis mit der Geschmacksrichtung “Tränengas” an. Ob das hilft? Keine Ahnung. Ob ich das gut finde? Ja. Allein schon der Idee wegen.

The main ingredient is black peppercorns, a reminder of the pungent, peppery rounds fired by police on the streets of the semi-autonomous Chinese city during months of demonstrations last year.

“It tastes like tear gas. It feels difficult to breathe at first, and it’s really pungent and irritating. It makes me want to drink a lot of water immediately,” said customer Anita Wong, who experienced tear gas at a protest. “I think it’s a flashback that reminds me of how painful I felt in the movement, and that I shouldn’t forget.”

Und ich habe gar keine abschließende Meinung darüber, wie genau ich das finden soll. Käme auf einen Test an, glaube ich.

Das Pine Mountain Country Coffee House in Desoto, Missouri, hat ein Eis-Dessert im Angebot, das als „Pickle Split“ bekannt ist. Ein Banana Split, der ohne Banane aber dafür mit einer Gewürzgurke serviert wird. Keine Ahnung wie das schmeckt, aber ein Teil der Probierenden stehen wohl drauf.

It was just something fun and it looked pretty. I took a picture of it on the counter and within five minutes it started getting shares and my phone was lighting up.Then a couple of places called us and did interviews and we thought, that’s it, it’ll go away. It didn’t go away.

Gletscher in Island bricht ab und lässt Touristen flitzen

Krasses Naturschauspiel in Island, wo vor zwei Tagen ein Eisgletscher abbrach und ins Wasser stürzte. Glücklicherweise kam keiner der dort anwesenden Touristen zu Schaden, die allerdings auch alle samt umgehend die Füße in die Hände nahmen und zusahen, dass die im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes Land gewannen. Kein Wunder, denn die dabei entstandene Welle wirkt schon derbe Respekt einflößend. Schwer beeindruckend. Holla, die Waldfee.

Eine Eisbong aus Eis machen

Kiffen kann ja kreativ machen, habe ich mir sagen lassen. Gerade im Hinblick auf Rauchwerkzeug sind da schon so einige Unikate entstanden. Ich höre aber zum ersten Mal von einer Eisbong, die sich irgendwer aus Eis zusammengebastelt hat. Und die scheint ihren Job, zumindest bei Minusgraden, ganz gut hinzubekommen.

Trey is freezing in Canada and we can’t think of a better way to warm up than with some legal kush smoked out of an ice bong. This is a series for people who are too lazy to even go to the grocery store.
