Marley Natural Fine Cannabis will be a “premium cannabis brand” inspired by the late singer. As well as slinging ‘erb (“heirloom Jamaican cannabis”, sold as buds, concentrate, or oils), the company will also sell a range of branded goods, ranging from smoking accessories to “hemp-infused lotions and balms.”
Perhaps surprisingly, the business is a legit corporate affair: branding agency Heckler Associates – whose other clients include Starbucks – are involved, and the Marley family have the backing of private equity firm Privateer Holdings. The latter’s CEO had the following to say:
“Bob Marley started to push for legalization more than 50 years ago. We’re going to help him finish it. … We’re committed to social change, environmental sustainability and building a professional, responsible and legal cannabis industry.”
