Kurzfilm: One week with 1UP – Martha Cooper unterwegs mit der 1UP CREW

Vor fünf Jahren erschien mit „One week with UP“ ein Fotoband der jetzt 79-jährigen Fotojournalistin Martha Cooper, in dem gezeigt wird, wie die etablierte Street Art Fotografin gemeinsam mit Ninja K. und der Berliner 1UP Crew unterwegs war. Dazu ist während dieser Zeit auch ein Kurzfilm entstanden, der bisher nur ein mal in den USA zu sehen war, jetzt aber dank I❤️Graffiti auch für jedermann im Internet verfügbar ist.

In Erinnerung an George Floyd: „Please, I can’t breathe“-Wholecar der 1UP Crew

Wieder ein starkes Statement der Berliner 1UP Crew, die in Erinnerung an den am Montag durch einen weißen Polizisten getöteten Afroamerikaner George Floyd ein Bahnabteil unter Farbe gebracht haben.

Once again a person of color was murdered by police officers in the Divided States. A shameful video went viral where white officers were arresting George Floyd. One police officer was pressing his knee into Floyeds neck for about 7minutes. Floyd bagged for his live: „Please, i can’t breathe, my neck hurts, you’re going to kill me!“
The officers ignored him. In the aftermath the police department was claiming that Floyd resisted his arrest, but on the smartphones filming there was no signs for resistance. Racially motivated police brutality is an ongoing issue in the US and a lot of other countries. It has to stop now, once and for all! Justice for George Floyd, Justice for all victims of the abuse from authority. Support you local anti brutality movement.

In Erinnerung an die Opfer rechten Terrors, schreibt die 1UP-Crew Namen dadurch Getöteter auf eine U-Bahn in Berlin

Die 1UP-Crew hat letzte Nacht in Berlin Namen derer, die in den letzten Jahren zu Opfern des rechten Terrors in Deutschland wurden, auf eine U-Bahn geschrieben. Ich vermute, dass die BVG das Schienenfahrzeug mittlerweile aus dem Verkehr gezogen hat, würde mir in dem Fall allerdings ganz naiv die Haltung von denen wünschen, das Teil – von mir auch nur zeitlich begrenzt – so durch die Stadt fahren zu lassen.

You are not forgotten! Neither are the deeds and perpetrators, some of which have not yet been cleared up or brought to justice.
There is still talk of single perpetrators and the danger of neo-Nazis is minimized, although there have been murders for decades, attacks on people and armed neo-Nazi structures up to police and army are known for a long time.

Die 1UP-Crew über #LeaveNoOneBehind

Das.

In view of the challenge we face, we need many signs of solidarity. Small-mindedness or egoism cannot lead the way. Currently, on Lesbos Camp Moria alone, there are over 20,000 people living in the camp, although it’s built to accommodate only 3,000. Quarantine, hand-washing or social-distancing are essential at this moment, but if you live in Moria, none of this is possible. The virus does not differentiate according to skin colour, religion or gender. Corona affects us all. We need to evacuate these Camps now. Societies will prove that it can emerge stronger from this crisis – but only if we leave no one behind.

Wie die 1UP Crew ihr 3D-Korallen “Graffiti” gemacht hat

Zu Beginn diesen Jahres veröffentlichte die 1UP Crew Bilder des ersten 3D-Korallen “Graffiti”, welches sie zusammen mit PangeaSeed Foundation, Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans, dem Allcapsstore und Coral Guardian vor Nusa Penida auf Bali erschaffen hatten. Jetzt haben sie eine kurze Doku dazu nachgereicht. Immer noch eine geile Aktion.

The world has lost roughly half of its coral reef in the last 30 years.
Science estimate 90% of corals will die by 2050 due to human impact.
Without bold action we risk losing them all in OUR lifetime.

2011 war die 1UP Crew in Bangkok und hat sich dort mit einem Bild auf dem Ghost-Tower verewigt. Nicht wirklich, denn das Bild wurde später wieder entfernt. Nun waren sie wieder da und haben die Chose wiederholt. Zu dem Video gibt es dann gleich mal Modeselektors „One United Power“, die damit auch gleich mal ein neues Musikvideo haben. Und das passt ganz schön gut.
