Der kanadische Schlagzeuger Larnell Lewis gibt an, vor diesem Moment noch nie Metallicas „Enter Sandman“ gehört zu haben. Der Mann kommt vom Jazz und R&B. Kann also sein, dass Metal ihn da nie wirklich interessiert. Lassen wir mal so stehen.
Jedenfalls stellt er sich der Herausforderung, nach einmaligem Hören des Songs, diesen gleich mal an den Drums nachzuspielen – und das ist ziemlich beeindruckend, wie ich finde.

It’s one of the most popular metal tracks of all time, but those outside the metal or rock world might not recognize it. The last time Larnell Lewis came out to Drumeo, we challenged him to write a drum part – on the spot – to a song he’d never heard before and he blew everyone away. This time, Larnell wanted to try a style he’s not known for playing: metal!“

Der Mensch ist unglaublich. Einfach beeindruckend was er da tut und meinen tiefsten Respekt für so ein musikalisches Verständnis. Es gibt noch eine andere Session mit ihm.. das Stück ist etwas anspruchsvoller als ein Werk aus Ulrichs Feder. :D
