Portraits aus Computertastaturbuchstaben

Ich frage mich ja immer, woher diese Tüpen ihren Blick dafür haben, aus den vermeintlich einfachsten Dingen Portraits machen zu können. Ich habe keine Idee und staune. Gerade über diese Arbeiten des australischen Künstlers WBK, Work by Night, die er aus Computertastaturbuchstaben gemacht hat.

australian artist WBK or works by knight has developed a series of portraits which pay tribute to various individuals whose influence helped change the realities of technology and mass media through out the 20th century. WBK builds all of his mosaic artworks from discarded or outdated components from the keyboards of analog and digitized devices. the faces of celebrities and visionaries like astronaut neil armstrong, rapper tupac, politician aung san suu kyi mp ac, or olympian usain bolt are realized through the strategic placement of worn letter and number type parts.
