Halb Käfer, halb Camper ist der „Super Bugger“ eine wunderschöne Sonderanfertigung, die 1980/81 von Lloyd Smith in Freeport gebaut wurde. Der Mini Camper wurde auf einem 1969er Volkswagen 1973er Super-Käfer-Motor gebaut und es dauerte 13 Monate, um ihn fertig zu stellen.
On his motivation, Smith told the Freeport Journal-Standard in 1981: “There had to be a way to find something which would accommodate two people and be extremely economical and reliable to operate.” Smith added that his camper gets 27 miles per gallon on the highway.
