Die Meerechse (Amblyrhynchus cristatus) ist eine endemisch auf den Galápagos-Inseln vorkommende Leguanart. Sie lebt auf allen Inseln, meist an Felsküsten, aber auch in Mangrovenbeständen. Unter den heute lebenden Echsen ist die Meerechse die einzige Art, die ihre Nahrung im Meer sucht.

Tintenfische sind Meister der Tarnung. Ihrer natürlichen Umgebung können sie sich farblich so anpassen, dass sie kaum wahrzunehmen sind. Was aber, wenn sie sich in einer Umgebung anzupassen versuchen, die ihrer natürlichen so gar nicht entspricht? Kurz: sie tun, was sie können.

Dieser Herr hier hatte in Esperance, West-Australia die Möglichkeit, mit seinem Board nebst Walen paddeln zu können. Dazu singt Jack Johnson John Lennon, was dem Ganzen eine sehr friedliche Stimmung verleiht. Und schön ist es auch, irgendwie.

Adidas hat sich mit Parley for the Oceans zusammengetan und gemeinsam haben sie mit dem adidas x Parley einen Sneaker entworfen, der aus Plastikmüll gemacht wird, welcher in den Ozeanen dieses Planeten ja zu tausenden Tonnen umherschwimmt. So ist das komplette Obermaterial aus recyceltem Meeresmüll. Das hier ist der Prototyp, im nächsten Jahr sollen die wohl in Serie gehen. Auch weitere Produkte sollen folgen.
Optisch nicht ganz so mein Schuh, aber wahrscheinlich würde ich mir ob der Idee hin trotzdem ein Paar davon zulegen.

Today the United Nations hosted Parley Talks titled „Oceans. Climate. Life.“ in New York at the General Assembly Hall at a high-level event on climate change convened by the President of the General Assembly. Environmentalists, creatives, scientists and entrepreneurs gave a briefing on the dire state of the oceans and climate change while Parley collaborators presented their visions, projects, inventions and solutions.
