Great Big Story zu Besuch bei Jelle and Dion Bakker, den Erfindern der Murmelrally.

Marble Racing is a sport watched by millions. In fact, these marbles have more fans than a lot of athletes. People buy their merch, and they even have their own team chants! That’s because brothers Jelle and Dion Bakker have created a captivating world, where a bunch of inanimate objects rolling down a plastic track suddenly becomes an exhilarating sport.

After a life-long passion for marbles, Jelle created a YouTube channel, and audiences quickly became obsessed with their high production value and creative races.

Great Big Story war lange Zeit eine der mir liebsten YouTube-Channels bis sie dann 2020 ziemlich überraschend ihr Arbeit beendet haben. Ich habe das Abo damals nicht gekündigt und sehe soeben, dass es nun nach drei Jahren der Pause wieder weitergehen soll. Endlich mal auch gute Nachrichten.

From 2015 until 2020, a global team of curious, intrepid and talented filmmakers met thousands of people doing unexpected and wonderful things.

From skiing down Europe’s highest volcano to building a bionic arm from lego; sampling a betel leaf paan (that just happens to be on fire) to posting a letter 30 feet under the sea, Great Big Story has always been about the surprising and inspiring parts of our world.

We are thrilled to usher in the next chapter of Great Big Story. Our mission is the same; to bring you the untold, the overlooked and the flat-out amazing.

We’re going to be bringing you stories covering adventure, endurance, exhilaration and curiosity. From food and drink through to film, music, games, nature and the best of what Planet Earth has to offer, so stay tuned for something new each week. There’s a lot more to come…
